Cyngerdd BBC NOW 22/11/2019

Nos Wener (22 o Dachwedd) aeth criw ohonom i gyngerdd BBC NOW yn Neuadd PJ ym Mangor. Mae BBC NOW yn awyddus iawn i fyfyrwyr a disgyblion fynd i'w cyngherddau ac am ei gwneud mor hawdd a phosibl i griwiau fel ni fynd. Felly'r cwbwl oedd ei angen i ni ei wneud oedd trefnu trafnidiaeth i'r cyngerdd.

Roedd y gerddorfa'n chwarae Consierto i'r Ffidil yn D fwyaf gan Brahms a Symffoni Rhif 9 gan Dvorak. Yr unawdydd ar y noson oedd Aleksey Semenenko a'r arweinydd oedd Clemens Schuldt.

Mae Neuadd PJ yn lle anhygoel i fynd i wylio cerddorfa'n chwarae. Mae'r sain yno yn drawiadol. Roedd posibl clywed pob nodyn roedd yr unawdydd yn ei chwarae er gwaethaf bod y gerddorfa'n llawer mwy niferus. Ac roedd yr unawdydd wir yn firtiwosydd, gan ein gadael yn gegrwdd ar gyfnodau. Mae'r symudiad olaf o'r consierto, ar ffurf rondo ac yn ddarn adnabyddus a chofiadwy. Da oedd cael gweld technegau fel tagiadau dwbwl yn cael eu perfformio yn fyw.

Mae'r symffoni gan Dvorak yn cynnwys llawer o alawon cofiadwy ac adnabyddus. Ro'n i wedi cael fy synnu gan y teimlad oedd tu ôl i'r ail symudiad ei godi, mae hi'n alaw mor adnabyddus mae'n gallu bod yn hawdd cymryd pethau fel ma'n ganiataol.

Dwi'n edrych mlaen yn arw i fynd i Neuadd PJ i weld cyngerdd eto, mae hi wir yn neuadd arbennig.

Friday night (22 November) a some of us went to a BBC NOW concert at PJ Hall in Bangor. BBC NOW is very keen for students and pupils to attend their concerts and wants to make it as easy as possible for groups like us to go. All we needed to do was arrange transport to the concert. 

The orchestra played Brahms' D major Violin Concerto and Dvorak's Symphony No. 9. The soloist on the night was Aleksey Semenenko and the conductor was Clemens Schuldt. 

 PJ Hall is an amazing venue to go to watch an orchestra play. The sound there is impressive. Every note played by the soloist could be heard despite the orchestra being much more numerous. And the soloist was very virtuosity, leaving us in complete awe. The final movement of the concerto, in the form of a rondo and is a well-known and memorable piece. It was good to see techniques such as double stopping performed live. 

The symphony by Dvorak contains many memorable and well-known tunes. I was surprised by the emotions the second movement stirred, it is such a well known tune that it can be easy to take things like this for granted. 

It's such a spectacular place, I'm really looking forward to going to PJ Hall to see a concert again.

As always, the NOW performed a wonderful concert. The young violinist was clearly skilled and the orchestra's sound was incredible. The New World Symphony was tremendous, and constitutes an unforgettable experience.
